Perfect, Imperfect

Grab your sponge
your brushes
the drippy foundation
applied to your face
the lines
drawn with the contouring brush
the highlighting
with a sponge
the dark color of the contouring
the pale color of the highlight
the lovely red on my cheeks.

Sometimes I think
that I really need makeup
to hide me from myself.

When I look in the mirror
all I see is my shy, bottled-up, confined
personality
brought to life
small eyes,
full lips
full of lies,
acne bumpy as mountains
so maybe the one, two, three layers of
slick and color and shine
will hide the imperfections.

But maybe one day I'll have the courage
to wash all the makeup away
to not feel imperfect ever again.

Wrong and Right

The things I really like about makeup is the way the colors make your eyes pop. I'm more of a natural color type of person I don't like those bright colors all up on your eye.

This type of make up doesn't make your eye pop this makes you look like a clown. The color is to dramatic for her it doesn't make eyes pop out. The thing that I would change I would just put it on the eyelid softly and not pull it all the way to the eyebrow. That is way too much.

This is how the eye make up should look like. Not to dark or dramatic, more of a natural look. Theses color are more soft. They actually make her eye pop.

I love the cover up when its done right and you don't look orange and or darker then your neck. This for example is very off her natural skin color.

This is what the cover up should look like the same color as your natural skin color or close to the same color. Also brought down to your neck so it evens everything out.

Natural Makeup

Many eye shadows have many artificial coloring in it. The natural organic makeup is better for your face because it doesn't damage your skin as much. The natural makeup has no: Parabens, sulfates, synthetic dyes, phthalates, dimethicone, petroleum, talc, bismuth oxychloride, or nanoparticals. They don't test on animals which if you ask me that's a really good thing because why harm poor animals just for makeup. All the minerals that they out in the make up are from nature. All the products from Alima are nontoxic, nonirritating presevatives.

Sadly in the US many makeup are not good for your skin. The European Union Cosmetics banned over 1000 chemicals that were unsafe to wear. The FDA has banned over 10. They should really stop using all these bad things that many people put on their face. The reason why i just didn't say just women is the fact that many men use make up as well.

Lip tints

Their lip tints have many natural ingredients such as cacao oil, white tea, olive oil, candelilla wax, iron oxides, organic beeswax many more ingredients but i would bore you so let's continue.

Blush, Face, Eye Shadows

They have the following ingredients; ferric ferrocyanide, iron oxides, Mica, Zinc Oxide, Ultramarine, Kaolin.

Lip sticks

The lip sticks are way different then the lip tints they have more different ingredients. The following are the lip stick ingredients; sunflower oil, coca butter, iron oxide, soy, coconut, Shea butter, tin oxide, carnauba, jojoba esters.

The resource I used was the make up line Alima they have all the ingredients listed for you they carry many eye shadows, lip tints, lip sticks, cover up, mascaras, blushes. They have many colors to choose from better yet they all natural ingredients. They Also carry natural brushes they are all natural also. They have many types of brushes any one that you need. I would recommend this site to buy make up if you are really a natural product kind of person.  http://www.alimapure.com/collections/tools

My Reasons :)

The things I want learn about cosmetology are, eye shadow, contouring, foundation, blending, acne coverage, highlighting I can go on and on but I would bore you by explaining everything I want to learn.

The first time I started wearing makeup was in the 6th grade but oh goodness let's not talk about that. I stopped and then in 8th grade I would just wear a little bit of eyeliner and that was it. Now that I'm in high school I started wanting to be more creative with makeup and try it.I started doing my eye shadow and eyeliner way more now.Sometimes I don't have time for all of that.I would get compliments people saying that they loved the way I combined my colors. One day my best friend asked me to do her makeup for a party. She ended up loving it and got lots of compliments. So then I asked my mom if she would let me do her makeup. She loved the way I did it and from then on I started doing my friend and moms make up. A lot of my friends asked me to do their make up too and of course me being me I said yes! I just want to get the opportunity to learn about it more. After high school I plan to go to beauty school. Long story short I have seen many people with harsh lines that I just want to grab their face and blend it for them but that is really rude. Also many people with over drawn eyebrows (their eyebrows are not on fleek).

In order to learn about this before I go to school for cosmetology I will research about it on YouTube and read books about it mean while. I just can not wait after High School to go to beauty school.
